Jumpjet Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 ....in this: Advertiser's photo of a Broom 33, but you get the idea. Survey and river trial yesterday, hoping to complete by half-term. This is what twin Volvo Penta TAMD41s look like at 3000rpm with an indicated 20mph (SoG). Trial done on the River Yare near Brundall. You do get a special temporary dispensation to exceed the speed limit (6mph) in order to fully test the engines, but only on certain stretches of river and at certain times. Incredible feeling, almost as exhilarating as an Elise!!

Jumpjet Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 I thought your gin palace had a X-Flow..... or have you upgraded. How long 0-6mph mate? Yes, my Freeman did have a marinised Ford crossflow and a lovely engine it was... points, condensor, distributor, setting the timing, happy days.
DeanB Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Did you put twin 40s on it? I don't think I would have been able to resist.....
russelld Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 That looks awesome. How about an M.L.O.C run out in her when she is yours ? The south of France is nice in late May, it gets quite busy just up the coast from Nice at that time of year I understand.

I've been told to budget for something like one gallon per mile at cruising speed at sea - boat appropraitely named methinks!

John FISH Curtis Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I'd be up for a trip to France in that. Can I fit an airfilter, exhaust and tune it up a bit?
