Advertiser's photo of a Broom 33, but you get the idea. Survey and river trial yesterday, hoping to complete by half-term.

This is what twin Volvo Penta TAMD41s look like at 3000rpm with an indicated 20mph (SoG). Trial done on the River Yare near Brundall.

You do get a special temporary dispensation to exceed the speed limit (6mph) in order to fully test the engines, but only on certain stretches of river and at certain times. Incredible feeling, almost as exhilarating as an Elise!!

Yes, my Freeman did have a marinised Ford crossflow and a lovely engine it was... points, condensor, distributor, setting the timing, happy days.

If we all chip in for fuel then something could be possible... I've been told to budget for something like one gallon per mile at cruising speed at sea - boat appropraitely named methinks!

AT SEA - with all that superstructure, a large contribution to the RNLI might be in order !
