Elise Sc Or Exige?

Went to see that JCT600 one Chris in the hunt for mine, looked very good all round condition (though no leather gear consul surround!).

I wanted less than 20K on the clock though & they had no margin for the slightest bit of price movement. The car had just had a new radiator & something on the air con replaced robbing the margin, It seemed a challenge to get them to service it within the price!

Perhaps the pressure to sell will be building though & increase the chance of a deal...

thats interesting to know mate cheers. did you drive it at all??

No I didn't drive it Chris, I was actually waiting for a call back from him to tempt me further but it never came!

So I stuck by my orig plan & looked else where for an under 20K one...

cheers russ... i think the appeal of the soft top is what 1st took me to the elise and i would miss it... i know G & Laura have the soft top conversion but as you say that goes against all laws of being an Exige owner haha!!

Balls to that, come summer, my roof is coming off! smile.png

Go for an Exige. If you don't you'll always be wondering. Buy an Exige on the other hand and you'll know what you're missing/gaining. I've had three Elises and just got into an Exige. I just love it. And one thing I didn't consider but is great, no one calls you a hairdresser biggrin.png Honestly it's like the preception out there is an Exige is more manly tongue.png I know anyone who knows anything about proper cars doesn't think that, but joe public..... Of course if what other people think doesn't bother you then none of that matters - but I'm a tart so I do bleh.gif

Mark, I think you will find Chris is a Hairdresser.... :-)

I'm shaking my head at the thought of an exige with no roof. Mines had the conversion done, but even I'm not gay enough to take it off...

And before anyone says it, I probably don't know how anyway...... :-(

Hahahaha scatty u would need to take it to a dealer to get the lid off!

Also another point for the elise... Bigger boot for hair products after having the roof off messes my hair up!

Lol, I like the idea of a s/c elise, you kind of get the best of both worlds. I'm not keen on the front end of that orange one. Stick that next to the white exige and IMO there would be no decision to make.. Exige would win hands down.

By the way, what the fooks wrong with the one you've got, its stunning....

You must be thinking of somebody else mate ;-)

I did the conversion but only used it a couple of times in 3 years, but I'm not a big fan of roof off.

As everyday use i think you would need to swap the tyres out, 48's are nearly £500 for a pair of rears and last about 4000 miles, less with trackdays.

Check out the insurance too mate, power hike will prob raise it a lot, mine doubled.

Looks a nice clean car, is it over priced for a touring pack car? Exige prices have gone through the roof.

What about this one!! Bit different :-) Not sure I like it tho!

Looks like someone has had the airfix paints out on it.

SC does give you the best of both, bide your time and get the right one though mate.

Congrats on the job.

Not seen the MLOC style post yet..............

Generally roof off only when the Mrs is driving/in the car, we are in Le Mans or transporting something large back from the garden centre lol.
