G Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I have spoken to CCI and renewed my policy today. The sports car / trackday policy has been revamped, mileage breaks are now 2000, 4000, 6000, 8000. I have renewed for 4000 with a view to bump up to 6000 during the year if I need it. CCI also mailed me regarding the changes Aviva have made to the underwriting of the scheme just to clarify the situation. 'In the case of Lotus we can no longer cover a Lotus Elise with drivers under 40 years of age on the sports car scheme. We can offer cover through a separate private car scheme but this does not include cover for track days at all. The reason being is that the amount of claims in this risk bracket far outways the amount of income so we have had to make the change to try and make the scheme profitable. There are some other changes for other vehicle types but this is the one that effects Lotus and I thought this would be your priority.'
SMP Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 ^^^ Beat me to it - I've just renewed with CCI today and got the same response. Seems to be one positive about passing the big 40 ...... Si
fentuz Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Got a year grace then... Renewed last month... Not good this trackday business after heritage, now CCI... Did CCI mention whether or not they re looking for an alternative solution?
