I can't find the original MLOC thread, but I thought I'd let people know that having fitted the recommended wiper blade (from this forum) below to my S2 Elise - the transformation has been staggering. Fantastic, crystal clear windscreen.

You've beat me to posting - I read a thread on Pistonheads last week, so ordered the AR26U version - Works a treat and well recommended.

Made the same change last week also, didnt go with the pistonheads recommend 26" though, i got the AR24U 24" version. Wiper is now super quiet. Tiny issue i still have is the washer jets need pointing up some more as the water doesnt quite reach the top and i end up with road salt still on the top of screen, i've seen the washer jet mod but prefer the jets to be hidden.

I changed mine recently to one of these, they are fantastic. I had ordered a hanger111 wiper, but it didn't fit properly and ended up in the bin. I don't know if there are 2 versions for an s2 Exige, but theres was useless.

And as for getting the squirters pointing where they should. Now there's a thankless job. I think I used half of the water supply to our street!!!!!

Ordered, anything has to be better then my smear-pers, they are god awful! now just need to sort out the jets and I may have a decent winter car on my hands ;P

Oh my god, just spent nearly half an hour getting the jets right. Still not perfect either and my back is killing. They are either too low and don't clear the top or to high so that they spray all over the roof. Ive given up after soaking the floor and roof of the garage.

I think it was a friend's old 2CV where you could direct the jets from inside the car. It was funny. (We were 17... nuff said.)

Further feedback for those that might find this information useful...

In the last week I've put a Bosch AR26U Aerotwin wiper-blade on my MY2011 Elise RGB. The 26" Bosch-blade is identical in length to the Lotus OEM wiper blade. The AR26U differs from the standard OEM "cantilever-design" blade in that the AR26U doesn't accommodate the curvature of the windscreen at the extreme left and right edges of the sweep; the last 1.5" of the AR26U doesn't touch the glass.

Other than missing the extreme left and right edges of the screen, the sweep is both effective a noise free - with no "chatter" at all.

The design of the Bosch Aerotwin is obviously optimised for essentially flat windscreens as found on many mainstream cars and superminis. The Lotus OEM blade, having the cantilever design, is better suited to maintaining contact with the glass as its curvature changes across the full sweep.

My conclusion: The AR26U cleans very well except at the edges of the screen - and is completely noise free. Would the AR24U do a better job? I won't know until (if) I try one!

Hmm I'll try a AR24U because i stock them at work, I don't keep the 26" ones in for some reason but i'll see how it works!

After our run out yesterday, the amount of water jets spraying over the actual car and dirty windscreens. It seems are wipers and washers are errrr crap!!!!! My Bosch blade is deffo better, it would just be good if I could get a good dose of water all over the screen!!!!

My 24" blade performed well on Sunday. I had the same problem of getting enough water to the top of the screen though. The very ends of the 24" don't sit flush to the windscreen also.

Just put the 24" wiper blade on and it does seem to do a great job where it touches the screen, However, mine doesn't contact the glass right in the centre leaving a 10cm circle in the middle of the window. Has anyone else experienced this? Maybe my wiper arm spring isn't strong enough to press it down?! Pretty useless at the moment though.
