Chassis/sills go for paint Tuesday. Rear clams ready also, goes the week after along with the engine lid. Couldn't take photos of how I finally fixed those two as my phone was busted but I'll take some when it goes together. To much on for the next two weeks and it has to go back to Track Group anyway for some fettle but I should have the car back together end of w/c the 16th June. Tax, insured and MOT'd to boot :-)

Stupidly busy period April, May & June but I'm starting to get more time to spend finishing the car.

Popped the splitter on first. I made a bespoke aluminium tray (to replace the OEM part that no longer fits) that will cover the bump canisters like my Reverie splitter used to. It still needs riveting to the chassis at the back, I'll do it when the car is on some ramps.

And finally on with the clam......

The ladder is secure....

A little set back, the sill cracked again. Somewhere on here is a thread with Eliane telling me it most defiantly would and P40 wouldn't be any good. So first off Monday rub off the new paint job (Bollox) and buy a fibre glass repair kit :-(

With the car in this state (+ Reg on the front) I went for a tiny drive. It's mental, the noise on high cam is insane and I only went to 7k. It's lumpy and I mean proper grumpy but I'll get used to it, not that its a road car anymore but overall the entire build is really quite neat. If I had of stuck with a paddle clutch it may have been undrivable, glad I changed it. SOUNDS AWESOME, LOOKS GREAT.....I love it :-)

John - that is looking awesome. Can't wait to see it finished.

Will you, Simon & Sheldon still talk to me when we next meet up?

I'm still sticking to my 'completely standard' policy though...

(Well, apart from the induction kit, sports exhaust & Nitrons, that is :) , but they don't count)

I had to came up with a way of fitting the engine lid....

I had these shim like jobbies laser cut and attached them to the existing holes on the lid.

These then slide through a couple of bolts. I can add or remove any number of nuts to act as spacers so the lid lines up with the clam (scoop to scoop in particular). I also trimmed the edges, this help for a smooth transition rather than scraping the raw edges together....

It does the job and I am able to use the existing Dzus fixing.

.......and finished, well all but a list of mods and improvements remaining!

John's been over spreading his JSR magic fixing and fitting lots of stuff all week, tar buddy. The final Carbon bits arrived, nothing major access panels and side scoops. I have fitted a number plate holder with integral lighting, made and fitted actually so should pass the MOT Monday afternoon. Fitting a new set of 888's in the morning. Stephen and Richie from Track Group have pulled it out of the bag and are meeting me at Donnington Wednesday morning to shake down the car before heading off to Spa for the weekend, thanks fellas. Then it's track and curry time, yay! I'll get some pictures up at some point very soon....at.Donnington and Spa the following week with Book a Track hopefully!

Good work, just hope you park it up somewhere safe and the metal thieves don't fancy having a go at all that bling on show now your engine lid isn't properly secure.

Although gold has dropped in price in the last few weeks, probably not worth the effort now !!
