mkaiser1 Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 Does anybody know the latest update re the Exige S? Has production officially come to a halt and if so has it restarted yet? I'm hearing March for the coupe and heard nothing for the roadster yet.
Dr H Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Not sure if you've seen this but there is a thread over on SELOC about it: http://forums.seloc.org/viewthread.php?tid=341600

I'm hearing March for the coupe and heard nothing for the roadster yet. I think the answer is "wait and see" dealers may get demonstrators before end of year, but then customers might........... Apparently production is to restart November, with pre-ordered customers taking delivery very early 2013, I'm sure as with any new Lotus worth the wait, although us older Lotus guys wont be doing any of the post production line development work on this car hence the longer than expected wait for the end product? Not sure if that's a good or bad thing TBH
amoss Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 From latest SELOC newsletter: Exige S faces further delays The new V6-engined Exige S has been hit with further delays, with durability issues leading Lotus to delay the car until revised parts can be supplied, and pushing back customer deliveries in to 2013.
Steve J Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 If it was my deposit id be demanding it back and test driving the new boxter . Lotus have really screwed up on this and have made it even more difficult if/when it does see the light of day.
darryl Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Yes but hopefully it will be fully sorted without the first few owners doing the development work for Lotus. TBH if you have put a deposit down think your more likely to be worried about Lotus Cars still manufacturing or who will own them come February 2013, especially as some people will have had their £5K deposit down for about 9 months
