lummo Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Went to fire up the engine for the first time for a couple of weeks this afternoon, and it wouldn't start. Engine turned over fine, but just wouldn't fire. I took out the spark-plug, and it was very sooted up. So I took off the cylinder-head & gave everything a good decoke, cleaned the plug up and put everything back together. It's running like a dream now. Very pleased with the results. Oh, maybe I should say - this was on the Briggs & Stratton engine in my lawn-mower
Steve J Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Mine wouldn't start till i found the bolts that hold the cylinder head to the block were loose. :-(
John FISH Curtis Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Blimey, reading that i was thinking removing the head is a bit extreme for a potential flat battery
