GCCK Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 I've had a couple of CG Locks for a number of years and the tensioning lever came apart on one of them. Rang up CG lock and Graham Cox, the boss answered. He immediately agreed to send me a brand new device and I popped the old one in the post to him. Amazing customer service - didn't think such service existed these days. I recommend these gizmos highly - if you've never used or seen one, they're well worth checking out. [i'm not connected in any way to CG Lock]. http://www.cg-lock.co.uk/ In a nutshell, the CG-Lock is a bracket which clamps on to the seat belt clip and enables the lower part of the seat belt to be tightened across your hips whilst enabling the top part to move as normal. It's not as secure as a multi-point harness & harnes bar assembly but way more convenient and easy to fit (3 minutes?), and easy to transfer from car to car. Besides holding you in place during hard cornering (great on track or fast road use), it's really good for holding you against the backrest and keeping your posture right. Good in a sports car or in a 4-seater where a harness bar isn't really an option anyway. I'm not usually moved to write testimonials but the devices are really effective and as I've discovered, the customer service is 1st class.
MrSimba Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Good to hear! I'm a CG Lock user and in the VX would not be without one, only wish I'd had one in the pax seat as well for when Walshy took me round the North Wield circuit!!!!
GCCK Posted September 25, 2012 Author Posted September 25, 2012 I posted the same post on the RX8 owners club and they've organised a Group Buy. You may need to register on the site (not necessary to pay a subscription) but could join in I'm sure. http://www.rx8ownersclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=124&t=47509&start=0
chrislane Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 What price is the group buy? Looks like a really good product given i dont have harnesses.
GCCK Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 List price is £50 iirc. Think they're hoping for up to 30% discount if they get enough names.
