So Far So Good...

Well, I've been at Lotus F1 in Oxfordshire for a whole 2 weeks now, and I've got to say its a very cool place to work.

The workforce is really motivated, and the atmosphere is very good. I've also seen quite a few interesting things in the short time I've been there. I'm not allowed to tell all of them (I want to keep the job...!) but so far I've seen:

Romain Grosjean sitting at one of the technical desks looking slightly sheepish after recent events. "Don't get too close walking past him" whispers a colleague, "He may veer off and run into you."

Jackie Stewart wandering around the factory. Apparently he's an advisor to the team.

3 cockpits with front suspension being put together in the workshop - my office is right next to it so whenever I get a coffee I see the progress made. They are so carefully put together and they look very shiny.

I've also had my first post race debrief, where everyone gathers on the workshop floor and James Allison goes over the good and bad points from the race. I missed the post Spa debrief, but apparently Dambrosio was sitting in one of the cockpits trying it out for size, and hardly anyone noticed...

I'm now toying with joining the Lotus Gym - mainly because I'm getting too podgy, and also because I've been told the drivers turn up sometimes and might need someone to spot them when bench pressing... I know, I'm such a fanboy...

Latest events - managed to blag some programmes for the Singapore GP and spent a small while watching some corporate types learning to change tyres pitstop style. I think they are potential sponsors for next year, so they are being treated like kings! They managed to get all 4 tyres done in less than 8 seconds by the end of the day, which is actually not bad for beginners.
