Miles' Fault Yet Again! Castle Combe Aug31

Having had my first ever pax laps with Miles at Castle Combe the other week (I know, I've known him over 4 years and finally plucked up the courage! wacko.png)

Straight after his laps in his awesome Green bullet we jumped into my car, and then this happened!

I 100% blame Miles!

(PS Dont ask me why I grip the wheel weird at the start - guess the whole thing is me not thinking straight! tongue.png)

Whoops. looked fun though. That Miles has a lot to answer for.

Did you see the footage from the action day there? I am never going on one of those!

Jeez, thankfully no antics like that for our day, although there were a number of old bangers breaking down - an old 205 had something fall off right in front of me which I hit doing about 100mph! :(

 definitely my fault, it must have been the extra ballast you weren't used to and it upset the handling wink.png

Great day at Combe and perfect weather, except for getting the usual sunburn, although I get sunburnt going near the oven let alone standing outside!

For anybody thinking of getting a few tweaks to a k-series I was very surprised by the difference the work done to Jon's engine made. I think it was around 150bhp, but the character, torque and general performance was far more noticeable than I imagined 150bhp would make!

My wife turned up late morning and took a few pics of your car:

And I showed her my appreciation for coming down to see us:

Nice of you to say Miles. It was the first time I had really stretched the engine since the DVA mods/rebuild. The car felt great all day and was really a confidence gainer. Normally I feel like I'm raping the engine far too much but this time it was just right.

I do feel that the edge has been taken off slightly by going from a 52mm TB to a 48mm. Even though I have removed the rubber wedge it still feels a little less springy when you jam the throttle down. Speaking with Dave Andrews on that subject he thinks it is worth me fixing my 52. reckons there is a few torques to be had by it.

His work has really brought the car to life, not that I havent had a lot of fun as a std 119bhp, but now the balance between power and handling feels spot on - all I need now is a better driver! :D

Will upload a session video from Castle Combe tonight.

Miles - can you email me any photos you have of my car :D
