We all know how much I like my gadgets. Well I bought these about a year ago and just found them in the cupboard! (Oops!) Suppose I shall fit them before a track day and see what they report.

I know it's rather basic with just 1 temp sensor per wheel, but it'll still be interesting.

As Martin rightly pointed out, it's for temperature, not pressure :)

I also didn't pay anywhere near that price, I think that's an early banner but I couldn't find anymore since www.opti-grip.com isn't working.

I realise it is about temperature. What i meant was pressure should give you similar info; the pressures raise as a temperatures go up and tells you when you get into lower grip zone.

I think Chris Haseldean has one of these which does temp and pressure. I think Scuffers or Randy was selling them a few years back.

The 4 temp sensors are i presume a small laser type temp sensor. I presume you aim them at the middle of the tyre from somewhere in the wheel arch ?

That's right. You just mount the infrared sensor in the wheelarch somewhere and point it at the tyre.

The previous ones I saw, the TPMS sold by Randy a couple of years ago, were pressure only and had allsorts of issues with pairing/batteries etc. (Unless he's done other ones since) Thankfully these are all cabled so no such issues with any luck. Optigrip do a kit with 12 sensors (3 per wheel) and also instead of it going to the screen it can go to a logger, unfortunately my datalogger can only take 4 analogue channels and they're all used (Throttle/brake/oil pressure/oil temp) so a display is the next best thing as a new logger module is very expensive.
