Big Power For The Lego Brick!

Ok... DG & I have decided to turn the boost up a little!!! smile.png

The Z20LET on standard internals was always at its limit with the 380ft lb torque my stage 4 was pushing out so it's all going in the next 2 weeks to be replaced with -

Z20LEH engine with FCP Forged rods & ARP bolts

Garrett GTX2867R (with .64 housing) - Dual billet ball bearing 'GTX' series Turbo which spools faster than a GT2871 and holds nearly as much power as a GT3071!

Tial 44mm external wastegate

Klassen Inlet manifold

Thermal gaskets

Klassen 'V' band exhaust manifold

630cc Injectors

Enlarged 62mm Throttle body

6 Paddle clutch & uprated cover

Vibratech engine mounts

& a lot of heat shielding & DG trickery! wink.png

All booked into CS for mapping on the 19th Sept with Klassen in Germany on standby!

Not looking for headline numbers in fact I don't want anything really over 400bhp even though the engine & turbo would be easily good for 450/460, the brief for CS/Klassen is drivability and mid range, minimal lag useable power & when talking to Mark @ CS he just said 'thats going to be phenomenal!' biggrin.png

Taking the opportunity to make sure it all looks as good as its going to perform and sent the rocker cover off to 'Wicked Coatings' for them to finish it in a gloss brushed alloy finish with gloss black plug cover and have to say that they have really done a fantastic job!

So its all happening, every things here, every things in place, just needs a bit of DG magic now! bowdown.gif

Bloody hell. That's going to scare some super cars off the road.

Are you able to run switchable multi-maps? Say, road, race, attack? That way you have the right power for the right conditions?

Nope!

I know some ECU's have this capability but I'm not running 'standalone' and the OE ECU is one flash & thats it!

So basically if it's not the 'right conditions' it's staying in the garage or being driven like MissDaisy! But I'm not really expecting any more torque than I've got now, a friend with a 490bhp Garrett conversion only has about 40ft lb more than mine runs now so maybe I'll have another 20ft lb or so, but the delivery is much more dramatic!!!

So it's the good old 'right foot' traction control! ;)

I reckon next Mod will be a Simtec or similar! Can you get such ecu's to fit the Legojet?

Must admit my previous car had switchable maps, but I alway ran it at the higher boost. I always thought I'd be caught short by some young wannabe! You didn't get the car to save fuel or drive slowly used to be my motto.

Zach's running the 'Adeptroincs' (sp?) ECU on his Garrett instal and that can have 4 switchable maps, also spoken with Chris @ Hofmanns and he does a very trick Syveks (sp?) ECU with whatever you want.... as long as money is no option!!!

Definatly the way to go but funds won't allow at present but Klassen is THE high power Garrett tuner in Europe his own 'development VX is currently over 700bhp! but as said my build is about drivability not headline numbers so be more than happy with 375-400 and keeping phenominal power and torque all the way through :)

And he's booked for the 19th for the dyno runs to be sent to him in Germany to write the map and send it back to CS, they reckon between him finding time to look at the maps and them finding dyno time it'll take about 4 days and 5-6 dyno runs to finalise!

Have you thought about a gizzmo boost controller it can work separate to the ecu and can double the actuator pressure

I may even have a cheap one for sale ;-)

Best thing about the gtx is its efficiency ie it delivers cooler air downside is it needs to be boosting hard to see any difference over the 2871.

Which is perfect for a 2.0 engine
