My France Weekend

erk

Recommended Posts

So I bought this tiny plastic car 9 years ago, and you know how it is, you get married, have children, and the plastic car gets forgotten in the garage. So I convince SWMBO that it is a good idea to dump the children at my parents and spend the weekend in France and fitting in some Champagne tasting whilst we are at it. (Can you guess at which point she agreed?) Oh and she hadn't even sat in the car since she was pregnant with anklebiter no.1 which was 4 years ago.

So day 1, the drive from Staffordshire to Amiens, via the tunnel.

Oh and it made it all the way there and all the way back entirely under its own steam (except the tunnel obviously), and didn't miss a beat the whole time.

SWMBO has a bit of a thing for the bubbly so we went mad and got 1 bottle, and filled every orifice of the elise with bottles/boxes of wine from the eurotunnel shop. We filled the shelf behind the seats then it got very warm on the way home so we wedged the roof behind the headrests, it fits- just!

It felt a bit like the magicians hat when we got home, I kept on reaching into the car and bringing out another wine bottle/box.

Some really great photos there. Already looking forward to our euro trips next year - LeMans and Spa are calling again! want to do a big trip one day too - not sure if we would be able to fit that much wine in though, one of us brings too many shoes ;-) lol
