thinking of getting armourfend or similar (was reading about venturetape in Evo mag).   Anyone got any experiences or recommendations ?

Suits other colours better than others (the lines are less visable) my guess is on Chrome Ornage you'll hardly notice it (cus the colour blinds you! :D )

You either love armourfend (or similar products) or loath it, I rate it!

It does work, just ask WillB on SELOC, Beefcakes Silver Elise front end once the armourfend was removed (after 50k miles it had become a bit ragged) but after a days hard graft WillB told me it came up beautifully (without it, it would definately needed a front end respray)

And Beefy how did I get Nick Whale Sportscars under my name? :D am I allowed no time off? :D

Johnny,

I've had amourfend on for the life of my car (1999 S1 111S) and I can honestly say there really isn't a mark on it.

Got hammered by gritter on Sunday night - not a chip in sight.

I can't rate it enough.

It can yellow with age - but that's only really a problem on silver or very light colours.

Needs to go on to new or recently re-sprayed paintwork though.

I'd definitely have the stuff fitted on any new car I buy in the future.

Most people don't even realise it's there unless I point it out.

I can honestly say guys that mine has not lifted anywhere and does not look at all scruffy. Even big stones seem to bounce off

You do get a faint white line at the edges after polishing, but that goes after waxing.

It really is great stuff.

Ladders - if you are getting a clam re-spray - get it fitted.

Would you like to take a look at mine before you decide?

Duncs

P.S this is my experience only and I guess it depends on the skill of the fitter.

Mine looks as good as new.

Can anyone recommend an Armourfend 'specialist' in the West Midlands? I have a new car arriving via Nick Whale in early April and want it Armourfended. Cannot get any sense out of the Armourfend office but I know that they work through appointed agents/franchisees and I guess that there must be one operating in the Midlands. Has to be good though :)

Impact resistance?

Not so sure guys.

Might stop gel coat cracks in minor parking bumps but I don't think the panels are big enough to provide and additional structure and therfore impact resistance.

If a shunt is heavy enough to damage the GRP - I don't imagine the armourfend will do a great deal.

Can't hurt though!
