steve b Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 ........ok if not a Lotus what other real word cars would you want to own and drive EVO? M3? VXR? I will go and do 1000 lines for even suggesting anything other than a Lotus!!
fentuz Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Caterham, Alpine A110 And, I may be slapped but I like the cayman
chorton_1 Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 I like Caymans too. I'll assume we are talking similar pricing, so a Veyron is out?!!
richbk Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 [when you say real world you mean something you could realistically use every day and have fun with?? in which case the atom's etc are out i guess in which case an old shape 911 for me pls. need to own and run one before i'm too old to enjoy it richbk
JonS Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 I'm with Ricjh on this one - a classic 911 would be awesome. Nick Whale has a nice llooking one i stock at the moment. Was taking a sneaky peak this morning But i would like to have a Caterham at some point - when i can afford 3 cars! Other than that, I'd like a Marcos or TVR.
Ladders Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Hmmm, My Old Mk1 Golf Gti Back ( you still got it Matt? ) Old Air cooled 911 Targa Split Screen Camper Ferrari F40
Whiz Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Any Aston Martin, any model (especially a DB5), any age, except the Lagonda or the Zagato. Ali
i wanna ferrari Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 If I cant choose a Ferrari as you probably dont class them as 'real world', it would have to be a Noble M12 GTO3R.
MattyB Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 My Old Mk1 Golf Gti Back ( you still got it Matt? ) No Unforunately, after spending a fortune on the Golf: - £1300 on a total strip down to remove all rust with repainting, it looked ****ing mint! - Quick rack I never got around to fitting - Hundreds in parts from eBay - Seats recovered in 1/2 leather I had nowhere at all to keep it. Parents wanted it out the garage, sister wouldn't have it as they were having an extension, so I had to sell it. Easily spent over £2k on it, but I really had nowhere to put it. A guy on my Lupo forum owns it now, so its still 'known' to me Here's a picture I took towards the last of its days with me:
Laura Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Hmmm, My Old Mk1 Golf Gti Back ( you still got it Matt? ) Old Air cooled 911 Targa Split Screen Camper Ferrari F40 F40 - my favourite car of all time. They always have a couple running in the Gumball, just so beautiful. It's never going to happen though, I can but dream!

LivinLaVidaLotus Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 911, F40, EB110, Diablo. I know they'd bankrupt me, but what fun it'd be.
cmm_elise_s Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Like most of you my list would go on and on and on including Astons, Morgans, TVR.....etc However I already own one of my dream cars (other than the lotus) an MG. The photo is of my 1978 MG Midget 1500. Not to everybody’s taste but I dreamed about owning one of these for years and finally the year after I graduate I bought this car. At the time of buying this I was driving a BMW 320i, i used to leave the BMW in the garage and run around in this most of the time!! I have a folder full of receipts etc dating back to the early 80’s...........I tallied up all the receipts and it adds up to about 20k not adjusting for inflation!! (ant doesnt including the actual purchase price of the car by the owners or myself).
