I saw one in the New S I think. It seemed to be slotted into an aliminium holder a little like the S2 Shelf dividers you can get scott.

Cheers Dave, so the iPod sits horizontally on the shelf.

I'll stick with my Halfords chavy sticky cup next to the handbrake :(

Oooh... lets see?Fed up of the iPod sliding all over my shelf. I put some of that non-slip mat in the tray, but that still moves about!

I'll take a picture a little later and post it, if I remember right the cup/holder cost me £5.. check back later Jon

I Velcro my iPod to the back of the shelf. Quick and easy to fit/remove and it can't be seen, head unit control means I never have to touch it while driving.

Ant - very very nice.

Couple of questions...

1. Did you make the box for the iPod to slot into? I reconise the box, it is exactly the same as we use in the office to fit manufacture small PCB gizmos into.

2. What model number is your Alpine head unit

EDIT:

3. You sure you aint got a Delorean - 2008??

That's cool ant!

How much and what ipod interface does it use?

You tried plugging the iPhone in?

it doesn't have an add on interface, its an iPod head unit (one of these)

I haven't tried it with the phone yet, but I did read on the interwebs somewhere that it does work

no expense spared there then, bit of rubber/sponge?

I used that stuff that florests use, cut it to fit in the tray, covered in sticky back plastic and attach the I pod with velcro.

True Blue Peter Style.
