Side Scoops
by koopa- 5 replies

hey guys, registered on ebay last night and started going crazy with bidding on parts! I got a lotus sport race knob (ooh er matron!) a set of carbon fibre side intakes and stone guards but missed out on the tinted headlamps. I thought £45 max bid would seal em but someone outbid me by one pound last minute!! Desirable things! Thing is, these side scoops ive bought can be stuck to the side of the car with adhesive. They are real carbon fibre and are made specially for the s1 elise by zaris sports cars. What sort of adhesive should be used on these things as i dont want them flying off at 80mph or if i hit a big puddle any ideas chaps/chapettes

Need a Nylon retention clip that holds the door linkage wire in the interior handle and the plastic rawl plug type thingy that holds the centre console against the bulkhead. Are there Halfords bits or is NW the only option?

Hello all I've just recently purchased original S2 suspension. I'm going to try and fit it myself. I have all ready spoke to steveb and he has told me I will need his front brackets to gain 110 at the front. Apparently you just adjust the spring in the damper to gain 120 at the rear. My question is this.... Is this ride height usable i.e. for using mainly as a weekend car, on Midland Runs, hammering around country lanes. AND will i have a problem with speed humps? What heights do everyone else use? Any advice will be much appreciated Cheers Daz

Hello all. Only owned my standard S1 a few weeks so still discovering new things. When sat in traffic for over 10 mins, I'm registering up to 95 celcius on the stack, but more like 90-92. Is this OK? Normal running at 87-88. More worryingly, I'm steaming from the front bonnet grills when sat at these temps. Dealer said fans cut in when things get quite hot, but still haven't heard anything fan-like from the bonnet even when steaming. Dealer also said if coolant level is high (I'm dead on the max line) it might boil a little off. Finally, I'm assuming its better to get moving for a run to cool things down , rather than switch off. Any similar experienc…

my wiper blade has perished over time and useage and i was wondering where you all get your replacements from? I have been to halfords to see the range of Bosch units to find they do not make a blade for the Elise. I have not rang Storm as i,m guessing i would be paying well over the odds for a simple bit of rubber.

I've just got hold of one of those T-shaped Aerial Grounding bracket things off ebay, and thought it wouls be a nice simple job to fit - the only problem is I need to detach the aerial cable from the aerial itself to get it to go through the hole in the bracket. Not wanting to break anything, I thought I'd ask before resorting to brute force - is there a simple way of fitting this thing? Rob

One of my big "mates" decided to use the glass of the passenger door to help pull himself out the car which resulted in moving/bending part of the winder mechanism. When the door shut, the glass was catching the bodywork - and when I went to wind the window down, it fell out of the runners After lots of messing and very cold hands, I've adjusted the winder mechanism so now all is well again. However: 1. The glass is no longer binded to the runner, so when you drop it too far the glass still comes away - what stuff should I use to bond it? Any recommendations? 2. Is the top "bar" (where the glass sits) meant to freely slide left and right when there isn'…

In process on reparing my an Elise S2 for summer Does anybody know whether an S1 Front Crash Structure would be ok on an S2 Elise? From my naive perspective - they seem the same... Looking to get some insight from members of MLOC with some experience? If S1 is no good, can anybody recommend where I might pickup a used one, understand might need to taken off front bit of chassis (no mean feat!). Appreciate your advice/ideas... Thanks Nick

Think it's about time for an oil change! What oil should I use though? I heard that Shell Helix is about the best for Liz's? Plus what Filter Lotus? Rover? or would a Halfords one be good enough? Plus should I use an engine flush as well? Thanks Dave
