Can anyone help - My fuel guage seems a bit funked. It shoots up and down between "refill", and 16 litres when fuel is low-ish.. It only seems Ok when it's over half full. It shot back to refill after only 60 miles from a tenner so I have filled it completely (32 litres including what splashed on my shoe). Is this bad ? ( along with the doors not staying open, knackered window mechanism, torn window felt front runner which i can't get out, and badly rotten footwells ) ? Still love the car though, if i'd wanted bored care free motoring I'd have kept the MG-TF

Even when my wheels are clean they don't look very good anymore, they seem to look quite dull. When they were new they looked a nice satin gloss look (but they weren't shinny gloss). Anyone else with S2 exige think the same ?? or come up with a solution ?? Wondering if some car bodywork polish on the wheels would work ?? think the wheels are powder coated ?? Thanks Chris

one of the little plastic coloured pannels from my main lights has fallen of the interior pannel!! (buggar) ive lost it too! does anyone know if you can just buy one switch? or do you need a complete pannel? And is it difficult to fix??

Just been quote 58squid or so to replace cable and handle, my cable is very stiff and the handle rod is very rusty. I assume its cheaper to replace before it breaks? Am I missing a trick on this, as I have read ages ago about peeps doing it themselves, only I think I read it was a clam off job and a bit damn tricky? Any advise please? thanks in advance (i Hope! )

Had braided flexis fitted and a complete fluid change - still don't like them compared to the MMCs. MMCs - firm pedal, short travel. EBC disks and Green Stuff pads - spongy feel and long travel. They have been well bled, so it's not that. Anyone else driven both and can confirm whether or not this is normal ? I've got an unused set of Pagid 42 fronts. Is it worth trying them, or should I be looking at a full set to keep them matched ? Cheers

had my roof off for the first time today gone back on OK, just looks a little diff could be me above the window, theres is the piece you wrap around the bar and stud (black), then along the window line where the roof starts proper their are two pieces of material making a flap9roof color) which looks like the window should go in between but it dosent come far enough down. is this right? should both of these be on the outside of the window and the window just comes up to meet the black stuff???? behind them hope that makes some sort of sense!!

Just but an enhanced set for the front of my S2. The chap says to wait a couple of weeks after a new paint job for the paint to cure otherwise you can damage the paint - particularly when you come to remove it. Is this common knowledge or is he being a bit cautious?

My doors won't stay open, which makes it near impossible to get in and out of the car. I've heard the door springs were rubbish on early S1's (mine's a late 97), and that you have to get at the spring via the wheel arch ??? Has anyone tackled this, or is this one for a pro (independant of course) . . I'm no mechanic by any means, but would rather have a go myself - I can't find the springs either (have tried Eliseparts and SJ Sportscars) . . Cheers, Alasdair

Had some vibration through the steering wheel above 50-60ish. Got the front wheels balanced which has improved the problem but not cured it. Seem to notice it more when the tyres are cold. I'm booked into Nick Whales for new tyres (again !!!!) Thursday week, but with the Zandvoort trackday coming up this Friday and no time to get them rebalanced before then, I'm curious for another opinion as to if this is due to the wheels being incorrectly balanced ? Ta.
