Got a set of Yokos fitted - now they're ran in I've been giving them some stick - what a difference to my old (original) worn P0s! I reckon I'm cornering 10 - 15 mph+ better. Anyone not yet made their minds up - get on with it! Off to Walshy's on Friday so I'll really be able to see how they react under pressure. Mark

Anyone had the standard seats retrimmed at Corbeau ? I know they did the 135 / 160 seats, but they told me today that they couldn't possibly work on the standard seats. Didn't they supply all seat designs for the S1 ? And if so should be able to retrim them ? Chris

has anyone ever done a DIY cambelt change??? I have a S1 Elise and the engine is a non VVC with a manual cambelt tensioner. I bought a new belt and the camshaft locking tool and have already had a look at the job. I got stuck when I found that I could not get a socket and bar on the 22mm crankshaft nut to turn the engine to the right position, 90deg B/4 TDC, let alone remove the alternator pulley wheel. I also need to lock the crankshaft for this too, but a) I dont know where to buy the tools shown in the Elise service guide and I am unsure where to fit it anyway. It appears I might need to remove the starter motor for this. How is this done??? I can't w…

can anyone give me any advice in fitting an amp in my elise? just want to know anything i should or shouldnt do b4 i start messing around with things. also i had a quick look for my battery! cant see it!!! lol where is it? or does anyone know of a place where i can go to have it fitted in derby? please help fellow MLOC members

I'm presuming there is a cable that runs from the lever in the car to the catch, so it appears mine has snapped. Anyone know how on earth I'm meant to get it open now? Then, once I've got passed that problem, how do I adjust it, because I've had a S2 wiper blade fitted and I've just noticed it's been catching against the body and chipping away at the paint. Apparently you can adjust the 'bonnet' so this doesn't happen? If not, do I need at adjust the blade? (and how? )

just got bk from loughborough and had problem wih the gear getting into 1st and 2nd and sometims 3rd was a struggle.... felt like fighting with the car to get it into gears any ideas why? no i didnt feed it steriods

after driving about i dropped my gf off and went in for no more than 2 mins, when i came out the car wont start was only ticking over. i left it half hour, and it would kinda start then cut out. so i rang my breakdown assistence by time they had came out (about another half hour)it started fine and is still ok? any ideas what caused this?

Occasionally when driving and i let the revs drop to idle it will only fall to 1500RPM, if i blip the throttle it will drop to the nomal 800ish. I have a 160tb on the car, i'm guessing that it is sticking, but i have never heard of the 160tb doing that. Has anyone any experience of this happening to them?

This is probably not the most technical question posted here but if anyone can help it would be much appreciated. Last night when I put the handbrake on, the release ‘button’ fell out the end. This has a metal rod attached to the back about 200mm long with a kink at the end and a spring just behind the button part. It’s possible, with a bit of fiddling, to get it to release the handbrake but it does have tendency to spring out into the foot well ! I have managed to get it back in but I’m pretty sure it’s not quite right as the handbrake light stays on all the time. can you buy the dash inserts for the elise from anywhere but elise parts, as for tweeter and dash inserts its about about 200 quid which i think is alot. also i have a k&n induction kit, ive noticed that some kits are about 150quid how much louder are they? anyone got a sound clip?

An OAP driver almost drove into me today was just driving and out of the blue he pulls on the main road without indication nor warning.... managed to break but my horn didnt work.... he probably scared it lol.... is that common for them to stop working? how do i gt round to fix it? does it involve in getting a new horn? i fancy a truck horn (Kidding)

hi all. i was just wondering if anybody has any made any mods to there elise s1, in the audio department. iv got a box with two 6x9's behind my seats and and put a set of alpine speakers in there. and have upgraded my speakers behind my seats to a set of alpines too. the sound is ''ok''! but i want more! if anyone has done any changers could the pls let me know or post me some pics so i have an idea of what to do. cheers. joe safe!!!! and could somebody pls give me the site address to elise parts, thanx
