I've just spent a fun 10 minutes trying to get my boot open.. The adjustment has obvious slipped (when I did get it open the springy latch bolt thing fell off). I've got it back on, but its a bugger to open again. Whats the way to adjust these things?

Hi there! Guided here from a google search and in need of some support people! Some clever sod tried to force open the door lock on my S1 Elise - with a screw driver as opposed to the key! Are these easily replaced? Are there any instructions available? Where would i source a part? Any and all help gladly received! cheers,

I know I've left it late, and they're still legal, but I wondered if anyone knew where to get some (and fitted) tomorrow around Leicestershire?

Hi all, The headlight brackets on my S1 have corroded away to practically nothing and the replacements have arrived today. Does anybody know how / what is the best thing to use to bond the new brackets to the inside of the clam...? I'm guessing that some form of bonding is required as there doesn't appear any other (obvious) way of fixing them......? Thanks Ray

Only noticed it a couple of days ago, my steering wheel is very slightly off centre (to the right). I don't remember hitting any pot holes that would have caused this, I'm a bit uncertain how it could have happened. Is it something I could correct, or is it a dealer job? It's not really a problem, but it's annoying... Thanks Graham

I'm getting my wheels stripped and powder coated (97 S1, getting them done a sort of matt anthracite colour). My question for today is, how the hell do I get all 4 wheels off at the same time i.e. what do I do prop the car up with? My main concerns are a - cost (I'm not a computer programmer) b - damaging the chassis, jack points, ehm everthing really Once off, I can just load the 4 wheels into my bro's Van and take them to a tyre place to remove and store my tyres until the job is finished thanks in advance

One of my driving lamps has been smashed. Does the entire unit have to be replaced or can you buy just the glass front? If so, do you remove the smashed glass front by unscrewing it or is it clipped on? I'm hoping that you don't have to remove the front clam to get at it but i'm unsure. Thanks Rich.

A while back my S2 developed a very annoying knocking noise coming from the rear left when the car became warm (motorway). After a bit of research I had the rear inboard toe in joint replaced by Horizon and all seem ok. The knocking noise has now come back with avengence and is driving me mad. The noise happens under load but if I clamber under the car and wiggle the toe in bar it doesnt move at all, so could it be something else?? Anyone??

Just been out getting some stainless steel bolts for the under trays - have to replace dreaded red clutch hose after hot weekend causes complete lack of gears - anyway, bolt supplier put me onto another place for Rawlnuts, or as they call them Well Nuts and I've just bought 10 M5's & 10 M6's for £8.50 cash. Less than half the price of Lotus Parts. Spec: M6's = M6-6WN-19A M5's = M5-5WN-16A From: Torque Control Ltd. 60 Alstone Lane, Cheltenham, Glos GL51 8HE Very helpfull bloke, definitely worth a call. Supplies all types of blind threaded fasteners and the tools to use them.

Hello All, Have been lurking here for quite some time, but this is my first post I normally see 87 degrees whenever I'm moving, but in the last week (nice warm weather), it's been sitting around 81. It'll go down to 74 at motorway speeds and 94 in a jam (at which point the fan kicks in - it used to do this at 100?). It seems to be consistently 6 degrees too low. I've tried switching the lights on (I'm sure I read that the temp may vary if there was a dodgy electrical connection?), but nothing changed. Other clues - no coolant loss. Had HGF 15k miles ago. Now on 47k. Running standard thermostat. Decat, hurricane - but nothing changed in last 6 months. …

On my service, I've just had the following points made to me. They're in "Red" on the sheet so I assume I should worry? Also, I'm off to the Nurburgring next weekend although I'm a pansy of a driver so it'll just be a leisurely drive, not a blast at all. - N S/R track rod end - Plain nut (Should be a locking nut) - Front Inner brake pads 90% worn (They're MMC's) Another comment was - Front Flexi Pipe Mesh Breaking up, Exhaust mounts started to split and mount metal support bracket missing. and finally - N/SR Anti-Roll bat link rubber split. Now, the car's just had a full geo at Horizon, and I'll probably ask Mike to do the repairs, but when I hear th…
