Ive just had a really good inspection of where water gets in on my car. Water gets in by the A pillar top corner, not because the window is not all the way up, as it is!!! Its because the window is not laying tight flat to the rubber side seals on the A piller. If the rubber seals were thicker and met flush with the window then there would be no water getting in at all. I need to cut some black foam and stick it on the rubber seal so that it is thick enough to meet flush with the window Seal not touching window Seal

I have just tried to change the pads on my S2. Fronts easy (apart from now needing buffer pads to stop the clunking at low speed), rears...well all I can say is that the service manual should be filed under "Fiction". I can remove the pins holding the pads in place but not for life nor money can I find enough room to remove the inboard pad. This then lead to me having to reinsert the outboard pad which then didnt fit because I could wind the piston back in and aaaaarrrgggghhhhh ensued. My only bright idea is to remove the lower bolt holding the caplier in place which may allow me to swivel the caplier up allowing me to free the pad. Has anyone overcome this …

Im thinking of replacing my 195/50 front Toyos on my S1 Elise for something thinner. Can anybody recommend a good, thin-looking 185/55 ? What are T1-Rs like in this size ? Has anyone fitted a 175 front to an S1 ? Also, from experience how long would people expect the S2 Bilstein dampers to last before sounding all "clonky" like the Konis ? Mine have done 4k now and sound pretty bad. Thanks JE

Fitted this afternoon! This was apparently "the very first" custom made Exige style diffuser done for the Elise. The guy I bought it off asked Martin Edwards to make him one which didn't stick out a mile from the back of the car. Apparently this was the prototype and has Lotus decals too. I think it looks great, but I know it's kind of a matter of personal opinion. What do you think?

Hello all Has anyone bought an Elise S2 in the last couple of years? My S2 (51 reg) has incredibly bad radio reception (which I know has been reported on extensively). I was wondering if the newer Elises have solved this problem? Thanks Sarah

I’ve got a black hardtop, which came with car and I’m thinking about getting it sprayed to match (Azure Blue). Can anyone recommend anywhere to get this done. Somewhere near Leicester would be good but most important is someone who can do a good job, well that and the price.

As some of you know I am developing a web site for Lotus Elises. I have sourced many parts (janspeed exhausts, performance upgrades etc) and am happy with their quality but have no real feedback from users of EBC Green Stuff Brake Pads. If they are OK I will have them on the site, if not then I won't. Feedback will help me personally as I am getting tired of looking into a crystal ball to see what is ahead to give me an idea of when to brake in the wet I am proposing to put braided hoses & the EBC's on my S2. Thanks Carl

Hi After my last thread about the hairline paint problems on my front clam I've finally gotten around to taking some pics. They're not great as they were done on my phone, but you can see the problem. I've traced in red where the fractures occur on this last one since it's not easy to see. I'm pretty much convinced that I'm going to get it sorted out next month at Horizon...

Hello all, Just had to do emergancy repairs by the side of an A road !! Head down in foot well with feet out of the passenger door on busy a road. The little bracket that attaches the cable to the trottle pedel has clean snapped (peice of inch wide aluminium) I think this was why my car was down on power on the run, i think it was bent therefore not allowing the cable to pull to full trottle. I told you I could go quicker graeme !! Anyway i bodged a repair by using the spring looped around the pedel. Enough to go the one mile back to my house. car is booked in for its 18,000 mile service so i'll get them to replace it. Just thought other pe…

Anyone else experienced this? I've just had new rear Advans fitted to my S1 111s by Sheffield's main Lotus dealer and they've made a right royal mess of the wheels. Before they got it, the rears were in very good shape - the passenger side had a 2 inch kerb strike mark on it, and the driver's was almost perfect (except for some marks where the wheel nuts go). Now the passenger side has 3 dents in the top of the flange bit, and there's a load of very deep scratches running about 1/3 of the circumference on the lip of the rim - like big kerb strike marks. The driver's side has a couple of simlar dents, 2 big chips out of the spokes, and similar (but slightly small…
