Since I bought my W reg (2000) Elise five months or so ago, I have had a problem with the boot lever in the door pillar. The problem initially was such that every time I popped the boot, it would not shut again as the lever had not returned to the seated position (I had to manualy return the lever pull to the depressed position). Its now got to the stage (this morning) that the boot does not even shut because the cable is not returning the latch mechanism. Is this a comon fault, and is it easily rectified by simply changing or lubing the cable?

When refueling my car i forgot to put back on the filler cover cap... i only discovered it today (i refueled yesterday night).. went tu the fuel station but the cap wasn t tehre.. someone stole it... can anyone help me to find out the serial number of the replacement from lotus site? i searched for it but i couldn t find it and i need to order a new one on the lotus site i just find the non-lockable one while i want the one i had , the standard elise 111 mk1 filler cap

Has anyone replaced their side repeaters on a MK2 Elise as I have clear ones at the mo and want to fit smoked units to match better with the Silver Elise? People selling them seem to have the opinion they just "POP OUT", and I don't want to get into anything till next summer now. Hard Top ready for the winter

Hi Ive just read the following FAQ regarding the fitment of an exhaust...... http://www.elises.co.uk/diy/exhaust/index.html Is there any additional tips you can give me on doing this to fit my Exige Janspeed Supersport Exhaust....and maybe a de cat pipe.... Ive never fitted an exhaust before and am a bit wary on doing it!!!! Will my Jack be OK to lift up one side, or do i need some ramps/stands??? Any help from someone who has done this would be great!

had my shockers springs changed with the s2 kit from steveb, top piece of kit very happy with it, i still get the odd bang etc and the back end will skip out a little, i think i know the toe links need changing, any suggestions on what id need to make the car feel great for the crap englise roads, and any guesses on prices etc?

Well it works! Managed to do it last night between rain showers and under the light of an inspection lamp Was fairly simple, although I found myself having to rearrange the instructions since the order they tell you to do things in seems to complicate things. I think I'm going to use some heavy duty metal foil tape to stick the ducting over the air vent though as that double sided tape they put on the inside of the plastic adapter is rubbish. Went out for a short drive and you can certainly hear the deeper throaty noise, especially when you blip the throttle. Very cool!

Could anyone tell me the make of this back box on my bros s1 elise? Its pretty loud but does it add any power? Looking at the way the pipe bends into the silencer I cant see it aiding air flow much Anyways, a virtual pint for anyone who knows (great smilies on this forum btw etc!)

Yes AGAIN!! Had the battery tested, battery is good.. if i leave my car overnight the battery goes flat!!!! Previously the lights came on in the middle of the night i had that fixed.... What could it be draining the battery??? Alarm?? Music system is taken off when car is parked on drive When i put the key in the ignition everything work fine (Lights... music...)when i turn the key the ticking sound at the back starts

Hi Guys Just a quick one. I need to replace my bulb in the drivers side driving lamp. I've had a quick look and there are two Philips screws on each side on the lamp, But there is no way I'm going to get a screw driver in there to unscrew it. May also be worth mentioning that I've got a racetech S2 and have those little driving lights fitted not the bigger ones which are fitted to newer Elise's. Plus If I wanted to fit the bigger type of Driving lamp instead of the smalls ones is it a big job? and will I need to alter the grill to house the bigger lamps. Cheers Chris.

hi guys,a few words of advice to ease my worries please. just got my car back after metal coolant hose replacement,carried out at stratstone in brum. very helpful considering they sell astons and jags only. coolant level in tank was just below maximum on collection. drove 80 miles home,steadyly up m6,keeping eye on temp gauge. it was constant at 87 when running rising to 90-93 in traffic and at lights. no problems. when i got home and lifted lid the coolant tank was full to brim and hissing is this normal,or do i have a problem left for 2 hours and level had returned to max. but after short run this morning same thing is happening. is hissing due to fact…

Evening guys & girls.. Been out thrashing the beast today and have finally come to terms that the front brakes need some TLC. Standard drilled discs with Pagid RS-14's fitted, need to change just the fronts.. Any opinions?? What is your set up & how do you rate it??

Can anyone please tell me if there is a Lotus specialist in the midland around Notts/Leic/Derby. (I know there is a dealership in Leics) Being a new owner I crashed the thing after 36 hours and had it fixed (not by Lotus) but it's not right still and would pefer a specialist had alook at it. I git this reply by someone who is selling one! One question tho...are you sure it will fit an elise S1? it is the janspeed supersport exhaust with the backbox over in one side of the clam.
