Hi all just wanted to update people on my dispute with a lotus dealership over the brand new elise i purchased which turned out to be damaged repaired. My car has now been at dick lovetts body shop for 4 months left outside in the weather and i doubt very much that it has even been started in that time. It is now well over two months since i officially rejected the car through solicitors and dick lovett have not even replied to them in any way, they have spoken to me in person and said i,d have to go to court against them. Lotus offered to repair the car and respray under warrenty but strongly deny they repaired the vehicle in the first place. But why should i accept that …

Hi All, I'm planning to buy my first Elise over the next couple of months. Having reading every review known to man I still have a few questions, any help would be great :-) 1) I'm planning to get a 1998-2000 Elise - How much do you think it will cost a year on about 10000 miles for Lotus servicing and normal wear and tear. 2) There seems to be quite a big difference between the showroom price and private sale price, more than standard cars. Is it a good idea to goto a dealer or would a private sale be better (I am a novice). Do the AA etc know what to look for on the Elise if I asked the to do an inspection 3) What would be the best one to go for ? I'm a…

The "beast" is off to Horizon today for a new cambelt and some rear shocks. That should bring Mike back down to earth after working on all those Porsches and Lotuses. Fiona

Just testing the demand for a possible discount on the NEW road angel with built in laser detector. The price of £335 is including postage, VAT and the first 6 months subscrpition. Usual price at the main places is £399.99. How many of you would be interested at this price? Possibly cheaper if i can sort it out. Steve heres the comparisons - http://www.originblueidirect.co.uk/compare...etectors-uk.htm

Had a new sports cat fitted at the weekend (Janspeed). It seems to make loads of difference to the power (rose tinted glass's possibly) and I have also found it get rid of the horrible 3500-4000rpm vibration/din from my sports backbox...I would recommend if you havn't done it yet. Ben

OK, I have uncovered a quite low mileage 160 in very good nick. Further to this I've discovered an amazing insurance company that will insure it for £700 with no no claims bonus... (less than all other quotes I've had for a stock S1 with 1 years NCB) How much is the going rate for a decent 160? Rob

Saw a crash right in front of me this morning, very scary. Two offset T junctions (crossroads) with both junctions wanting to pull onto the main road into Norwich. It has warning signs as is a known danger area. It was foggy, a car pulled out, I was waiting opposite, a van came along and T boned her, then slewed past my front by a foot or so and stopped. I did manage to reverse a bit quickly, but it certainly put the frighteners up me and I drove the rest of the way on high alert. Felt sorry for both involved parties, no one was hurt, but I can really sympathise with those on here who have had this misfortune.

Well...the absolute bargain of a 111s I bought is starting to not look like a bargain as the money I saved is quickly being swallowed by that addiction we call upgrades. Now at the moment I would love LSS/S2 susp...but if I get this I will have to get victories and new tyres as well - so 'on hold' Engine wise..my exhaust is on and is boomtastic. If i can get a second hand hurricane then great but im not really fussed for now as the novelty of the car alone is still there. The quickshifter and linkage will be next as it a must have and relatively cheap. One thing that is totally poor with my car is the interior. No leather or mats and a tart stereo. My…

I Just wandered past a market stall in Rugby selling some large S2 Elise remote control cars, i think they were 1:7 but they could have been 1:17, but they were at least 60 cm long. The manufacturer is a company called Xin Qiang, has anyone heard of these or even had one of their cars? They were only £50 so i was unsure if they would be any good. Does anyone know anything about RC cars and what sort of thing i should be looking out for? These ran on a 9V battery, but i am unsure if it was you run-of-the-mill square ones or a built in rechargable one. If anyone wants me to get them one, there was red, silver and blue, i don't mind picking one up for you and…
