Just thought I'd log in and join the 'chat'... as I've only just been introduced th the site. Anyway, I'm relatively new to the Lotus world, although I am on my second Elise. Just upgraded my S2 Sports Tourer for a new S2 111S. I now have the urge to add a few mods. Any worthwhile recommendations? And is it me, or have the seats shrunk? I'm sure they were bigger in my 2001 S2!

Wanted some trackday driving gloves so checked out the Yellow Pages. Came across a shop called Raceways, in Burton on Trent. Dunno if anyone else has been there, but very cool shop !!! Lots of goodies - clothing, t-shirts, gloves, helmets, overalls, accessories, and lots of car models. Many S1 and S2 Elise models. Is just off the A38 and worth a visit. Tel: 01283-517935

Just thought I would let you know that in Novembers Top Gear mag there is a free DVD which has a shortened version of Clarkson trying to evade missile lock from an Apache helicopter around the test track in a Lotus Exige. Just thought I would mention it as this is the clip that made my mind up to buy the Exige well worth a look!!

It's getting near to that time of year when the Elise has to be put to bed for the winter. I do keep it taxed and insured for use on dry weekends, but when does anybody in a similar position to myself stop using their Elise as an everyday car?

Tft Monitors (nlc) 1 2

Completely non car related, but I wounder if some of you IT guys could help. Basically, Im running with a 19inch crt monitor which is pretty good quality. But, the size is an issue now and am looking to getting a TFT. 50% of its use is for development/dtp/surfing and 50% for wtching dvds/tv/high speed games. My first concern is ghosting on the more high performance needs(ie Colin McRae etc) Also, I dont want it to be a step down on any aspect seeing as the crt I have is a good quality one. With a budget around £350, Im probably looking at a 17inch. Anyone here got any recommendations as I havent been keeping up with technology at all recently? Seen a Samsung 173p and …

I was looking into insurance for Elises for road and track day use. I am posting the following after I had a meeting and good discussion with one Insurance Broker - Egger Lawson/Competition Car Insurance - to see what they had that was specific to my own requirements. Doubtless the anons will come on here and say 'mine's better' -fair enough and good luck to you, but I have been unable to find what I have been after until now. I have become increasingly concerned that the general lack of knowledge from insurers about the car and lack of clarity regarding track days wasn't really satisfactory - so I've met up with Richard Egger at the above today and he has outlined an…

Ok guys thinking ahead..... I would like to have some driver tuition (on a track) don't mind whether it will be in my own car when I get it or instructors car. Looked at Lotus day but looks pricey. Any other good tuition days out there. Don't mind where geographically Matt
