Went to look at an Elise at the weekend, :clap:and loved it. The car is on a 98 plate with 32000 miles on the clock. It's just had it's "c" service done at the cost of £900.The car is clean and tidy with very few stone chips but with very badly worn back tyres(front ones ok). Could anyone tell me how much i would be looking at for the rear set of tyres and what the sizes are. Also, due to my inconsiderable lack of mechanical knowledge where would be the best place to get the car checked over.I have rung Nick Whales and been quoted £68,but this seems very cheap for a thorough check over. Thx in advance, Nick. P.s i can see why you lot rave about your cars n…

Buying A New Exige 1 2 3

Hi All, This is my first post, so excuse any stupid newbie questions! I am hoping to order a new Exige in the very near future. At the moment I have only spoken to Peter Smith's as they are closest to me in Derby, but they seem to get panned by a lot of Lotus owners. I would very grateful for any advice - if you lived in Derby, where would you order a new Exige from? Also, any Exige owners, would you recommend the touring pack or the performance pack? It will be a weekend/occasional track day car. Thanks alot in advance for any help. Matt

Got my after sales 1000 mile service coming up. Bought the car from Peter Smiths but the general opinion seems to be - don't go back for servicing. I would like to keep the FLSH if possible so where should I take it?

Hi all, thought I'd join up here as I'm already signed up over at seloc.org (which doesn't seem to be working right now). I don't own a Lotus at the moment, but hope to get a used Elise as a second car in the next 12 months or so. If not an Elise then an Elan would also be an option as I'm interested in starting a collection of classic sports cars as time goes on. I currently drive a SEAT Leon Cupra R 225 as my everyday road car (and a damn good car it is too), I need a big car for my job, otherwise I would be in a Lotus already I went to Paul Matty Sportscars and Nick Whale today for a look round. Nick Whale's cars were all far too expensive for me (£16k minimum…

Question for the internet bods - I can use .htaccess to create a restricted section on SWMBO's website, but she wants each individual account to be sent to a separate page (she's doing freelance graphic design and wants each client to be able to log in to view and download work - without seeing the other peoples stuff). Anyway I can achieve this with .htaccess or is there another way. Many thanks

Just been pulled over on a routine spot check. Apparently its going on all over the country as well as the old drink driving. My tax disc fell off so that was my reason. Anyway after running a check on the car it didnt register as I only swopped to my private plate last week Anyway i told them the old reg. and they were happy. Then a geek from the vehicle inspectorate came over and started checking over my tyres, brake disks etc... I was papping it a little bit as I have an illegally spaced plate on the back and a 3/4 size plate on the front as well as a de-cat - which i thought they might check on emmissions being as it looked so official (tbhey didn't) so…

I'm thinking of going to a car auction to get something to run around in forf a year. Miles are unimportant (to a point - <100k) car is unimportant (mondeo focus etc) and i cant be arsed to go round to 100 houses and dealers. Anyone know any good local auctions places? How much could i save on a forecourt price? Cheers Steve

I have to find a car to "replace" it with now But dont worry (or do worry, depending on your opinion of me!) I'll be volunteering to be a navigator on as many runs as i can manage AND i WILL get another lotus in about 12 months or so! PS - I feel weird now!
