bollocks ! ooops forgot the link dont click me ! these things are slowly slipping into my (no finance) price range. This one is very well priced and the miles are still low. I know its only a matter of time.... Has anyone got one one here apart from Beefcake? I use my elise as a daily driver and I soon accumulate the mileage (50 miles a day) What are the running costs like ? Insurance Tyres (do you have to run the semi-slicks - that'll be a pair a month then ) Fuel (230 miles to the tank a la 111s ? - i doubt it) Servicing and Consumables Mark - please say Insurance - double the price Tyres - you NEED to run A048 jobbies Fuel - 1…

Hello there. First of all, I am looking to buy a used S1 Elise. Second, I want to have any elise I buy inspected by a specialist before I buy. The car I am looking at is in Liverpool, does anyone know of any specialist dealers in Liverpool / merseyside that would do a full check for damage / work needing done / problems with the car etc? Or alternatively if there are any MLOC members in that area that know the cars that would like to help in exchange for beer tokens! I joined here as I posted the same question on SELOC but got no replies, thought this might be a bit more area specific. Thanks in advance all! JJ

Due to the powers that be at work I know have to drive a car that does >40mpg so as not to effect my allowance. Having been in a 03 WRX for the last year or so its bit of a blow anyway decided to buy a diesel shed for work,punto/clio and an elise for weekend Looking at about 10-13k for the elise. The first question I have is regarding models. Looking at the standard and the 111s. The price diff seems to be quite high to be honest. I realise the VVC engine is higher BHP but looking at the power graphs needs to be revved harder aswell so I guess 90% of the time you wont be using the extra 25hp that the 111s has over standard. Would i be better getti…

Whilst drive our Exige last week I noticed that the speedo needle didn't return to 0mph when I stopped, I read the hand book and on page 34 it tells you how to reset it (so I did)! All well & good or so I thought! Driving the car last night I noticed that somebody had been to the moon and back several times, as our odometre now reads 640770 Slightly annoyed-Whitwick

I've exhausted all of my technical knowledge so wonder if anyone here can help. I have the Wanadoo wireless kit. Seems to be a wireless router manufactured by Inventel, with an Inventel USB wireless 802.1g network card. This all works fine. I bought a Belkin PCMCIA 802.1g network card (2 laptops). All it seems to do is tries to aquire an IP address and does nothing. I've tried re-installing the device driver with no effect. I've assigned the card a static IP address, with correct subnet and default gateway. Although the card thinks it's connected, I cannot open a webpage or even simply use IE to get onto the router. Any ideas ?

Bloody hell, was followed from a set of lights most of the way to my parents last night by 2 HUGE guys in a BMW, who had to drive right up my ass.. lost em a few times, but traffic meant they caught up eventually.. but kept thinking of all the things you hear.. thankfully they just wanted a look and turned off eventually, not until after about 15 miles though The way people drive now, it makes it hard for you to not break the speed limits. Half the time I was just saying calm down its probebly nothing, they are just idiots. </rant> Chorlton

Hey People, I logged on her last year, summer time, as i was hoping to get me a Elise, as i was 20 insurance was too much, and i was having to wait until i was 21. Well i managed to get insured on a VX220 still being 20, and ended up getting on last year november. Just wanted to pop on here and say thank for all the info, and the vx seems the same as the elise. Ohh i was also the odd one out in my yellow 106 gti, when i joined you guys on the shropshire run, and met some every friendly people. Ill be about and if VX's are allowed join you guys on some events, runs as ur midlands based! Cheers Jay

Its happened again, last time I got all crazee, was when I discovered Ariel Atoms! Now I have discovered Ultimas and Radicals, the Ultima's even have soft tops, hard tops, etc. It seems they may be almost as practical as an Elise? Anyone know more about these machines? Or point me in the right direction? It seems Ultimas are kit only, unless one buys second hand? thanks Giddy boy. O-60 in 2.8seconds, hmm, although maybe I can't afford to insure that one on the road...

Hi all, just had this link from a friend in the US. http://www.allpar.com/cars/me412.html Seems it has been around over there for a while in the press. Is it my imagination or are they at last starting to understand cars? Peter
