My sister is 40 on 5th June, her chap wants to book an 'Elise Experience' driving thingy for her. I have warned him that she'll want one! I've found these:- Days to amaze, UK experience and Track days. Do you know if these particular ones are any good, or can you recommend somewhere else? Dave originally said that he wanted to sort it all out, but has just rang me for advice! Cheers in advance.

TG ATTACKED BY TWATS Popular car-based television show Top Gear was under fire this week from tedious leaf eating group Transport 1973 which claims that the programme is "too fun" and should be removed from our screens. Transport 1973, whose aim is to make Britain adopt a transport policy similar to that experienced in the early '70s, insist that Top Gear is indoctrinating the public into enjoying cars and viewing them as an entirely reasonable way to get around considering that the trains are so expensive and shit. "This simply won't do," said Transport 1973 spokesman Umbar Farp. "Our organisation is promoting a return to the transport policies of the early '70s when e…

I realise this isn't really the place, but I figure I should get honest opinions? I am tempted by a Carrera 911 3.2 or really a 3.3 turbo, the car would be 1989, so a whole 10 years older than mine. I understand the Porsche's seem to go on forever, bar a little rust and top end rebuild, new clutch etc. The engine sound was wonderful, although I didn't have a test drive, just a sit in... test drive is on offer, but I am trying to resist! Also the seats were so damn luxurious, I feel I must be getting old! A 3.2 is £16k so bit more than my Elise, the 3.3 Turbo is on at £24k, so a whole lot more, also one could buy all sorts of Scoobys or Civic R's for that new! Not …

Ok here is a bit of a delema (?) Had a slight rear end issue a few weeks ago and as the legal people from Adrian Flux require a 3 year guarantee on any bodywork repairs I have managed to get them to replace the rear clam on the Black Swan. Took a call from the body shop today with an update, car due back by end of the week - and Oh, by the way, do you want your old clam back?. I had joked to the significant other that as it has the best looking rear end with the possible exception of Kyle I wonder if I could make the old clam into a coffee table as there is little damage and with my many skills I could make the damage disapear. It went down the lines of "and I sup…

Driving home from work tonight in the Exige, trundling along the M45 at +50mph towards Coventry and in the distance (approx 1mile) see what I think is a huge plume of spray from a car going through one of the few damp patches around. This, for people who know the M45 was on the RH bend at the bottom of the hill just before the on-ramp from the A45. Anyhow continue on my way and when I get there it wasn't too bad. Continue at the same speed and get to the M45-A45 roundabout which is a 2.5 miles later. Onto the A45 and when I pass the golf cub I can smell what I originally think is just burning, then realise it's burning rubber. I can see some smoke ahead and think it…
